Memorial Service

Today our Dad, officiated at a memorial service ( He's an Ordained Berean Pastor) for a lady who used to attend our former church. During the service, Beth and I sang three songs, "I'll Fly Away", I've Got A Mansion" and an original entitled "The Tune." Then we listened as our Dad read from the Bible, prayed, and tried to comfort the 5 people who were in attendance (8 counting dad, Beth, and myself.)

It was really a very sad thing to experience . When I knew this lady, I did not realize the emotional pain she had suffered, but I came to find that this poor woman lived a really hard life. I still know very little about her childhood, but, I know she had a very dysfunctional family, that was rampant with drugs and abuse. Two of her children died from drug over doses, and her ex-husband was serving an extended jail sentence.

She was frail, and sickly, and she used to come to church with her oxygen tank, but she was very kind and she had a really good sense of humor. She died of an accidental prescription drug overdose; However, despite her sufferings, she was a Christian, and she really did have a deep love for the Lord Jesus.
At this service today, just witnessing the memories these five people had for this woman, really gave me a deeper understanding of how important relationships are. It was sad to see so few people at the service. I mean, funerals are in part supposed to be a place where people come and remember you, and when hardly anyone comes, that shows the quality of the relationships that existed, or didn't exist. The whole thing was almost surreal, because actually this sort of thing happens all the time to people who live, and die, and never put priority on loving and forgiving the people in their lives.
I guess it's easy while you're young to have all kinds of plans, and things you hope to accomplish; but really
when it all comes down to it, loving people and loving God is the most important thing in life to accomplish. And of course loving is sometimes really hard, and forgiving is painful, but Jesus Christ did it for, us, and he went through the worst things ever. His life was the definition of love. Hopefully our lives will reflect that definition too.

1 Corinthians 13:13
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."

Thanks for your insight, I guess it is easy to get caught up in our own little world and forget about others.

Hey guys, sorry your friend died. It must have been hard to sing for her.

B.C Info

We began about 5 years ago when the three of us, (Liz, Beth and Sam) were between the ages of 11-13. We started the band in an effort to call public attention to an incurable genetic disease called Machado Joseph Disease that our Aunt Darla had. In spring of 2002, the three of us recorded our first "independent" album, Hope for MJD. Over the years as life has evolved, so has the band. In January of 2006, we hooked up with JCmuzk productions out of Chico Ca, and cut our 2nd album, G-D On High. Throughout the summer of 06, we had the opportunities of playing at different venues all over California with bands such as The Fold, My Second Chance, and Creswell, and at music festivals like Spirit West Coast, and Joshua Fest. In the Fall of 06, two other members were added to the trio, Blake Schack as a lead guitarist, and Isaac Bashor on keys, percussion, and other various instruments. As of now, we just recently finished recording our third CD, entitled, "The People's Psalm" We love playing music and seeing the amazing way God works in people's lives.
